Former Sound Capital CIO Andreas Bickel has resurfaced as CIO of Blackfort Capital, a spin-off firm launched by ex-Sound Capital partner Oleg Falikowitsch and relationship manager Gleb Streib.

The Zurich-based asset management firm was founded on 1 July 2017. Bickel left Sound Capital around the same time, as the firm decided it no longer needed a CIO.

Bickel told Citywire Switzerland that he decided to join Blackfort Capital in part because its a firm with room to grow.

‘The founding partners are young professionals who are motivated, ambitious and have a clear long-term growth strategy. I am positive about Blackfort’s business model and looking forward to a longstanding engagement,’ he said.

Bickel is responsible for global asset allocation decisions, as well as being in charge of delivering investment advice to other companies that are part of the Blackfort Group.

Falikowitsch said in a statement: ‘We are delighted to welcome Andreas Bickel, a highly experienced professional who will be in charge of this major function.

‘With his track record and in-depth knowledge of the market, he will contribute best-in-class investment management advice to our clients.’
